Tree cuttings from park

I picked up some tree branches from the park on Apr 8, 2019, cut some cuttings, and transplant them same day.
Two types of decorative trees.

Buds had started to swell.
Used some root hormone (powder).
Temperature was around +14C.
Kept them inside. not exposed to direct light.

Method

Cut branch with about 3 to for level of buds

Online common knowledge seems to agree on that the best time to plant cuttings is right before Spring. Some time between March and April

    Today. Most of them are thriving. Some leaves have developed. I ignore if some roots are showing.
